
Division of Cancer Research, Regional Cancer Centre Thiruvananthapuram is one of the prime productive research departments in India encompassing research in various disciplines such as molecular, immunological and genetic aspects of cancer. As part of the academic activity the department is also involved in development of Human Resource by imparting training for postgraduate students in the form of short-term research projects.
The program contains following features.
Orientation lectures on various aspects of cancer biology and techniques relevant to cancer research.
First hand exposure on both theoretical and practical aspects of handling of sophisticated instruments like Flowcytometer, Real-time PCR and DNA sequencer.
Designing and experimental workup on one small aspect in the following fields of Cancer Biology.
Genomics
Protemoics
Immunology
Cytogenetics
Phytochemicals
Eligibility:
Candidates studying the last semester
of M. Sc. Biotechnology/ Microbiology / Biochemistry / and
other Life Science subjects.

months
Period:
Every year two batches of 20 students are
selected for project work in the following periods:
I. December
15th to March 15th.
II. April 15th to July 15th
